Pittwater Offshore Men’s Shed cooked up snags on the BBQ at the 2024 Carols Afloat performance on Scotland Island. $150 was raised for the Scotland Island Rural Fire Brigade.

POSMS Welcome Night at the shed tonight, with a $10 BBQ, knot tying demo by our nautical artisan Mario Ruel, a chat about what you’d like your shed to be, social darts, footy on the big screen or sit around and have a chat with your fellow Shedders.

Plenty of shedders tucked into some hot dogs before enjoying a relaxed darts comp followed by an entertaining horse racing card game, which proved to be a lot of fun. Congrats to Billy on taking out the inaugural Shed Darts Cup in a tightly fought final with Guy & Tim.

Pittwater Offshore Men’s Shed are providing the catering for the two Flaming Doghouse performances of THE WALL: A Pink Floyd Tribute on Scotland Island. Mediterranean style BBQ food, accompanied by beer, wine and soft drinks supplied by local Brookvale brewer Dad & Dave’s Brewing. All profits will be going back into our local community via POSMS projects.

Thanks to all shedders who made it to the event last night to celebrate Men’s Health week! Special thanks to our Shepherd’s Pie makers (Pete, Simon, Juha & Shane O), impressive tasting pies, setting a high bar for food at the next shed event! Thanks also to Shane M for managing to serve the pies hot – no small challenge! Great presentation led by Jon about men’s health, which also featured impressive ‘brush with health’ stories by Tim & Richard, both delivering valuable health messages to all (still trying to delete that cucumber image from my mind…), thanks gents👍. The trivia then took centre stage with ‘Billy the Quiz’ & Ivan testing our sporting knowledge, followed by Bill with a focus on Men’s Health, John T with some curly Offshore Myths & Mystery questions, with Richard & Jon hitting us with some challenging music questions to finish – all great fun. Big thanks to our trivia quiz masters, and congrats to the brains trust from Bell wharf who claimed the inaugural shed trivia title, very well deserved!
